Shermanites

It's been a month since I last posted much on the blog. Sorry!! But, we're now in Sherman, the boxes are unpacked, the internet connection has been restored (finally), and life is almost settled again. Andrew actually started work today! The first day of his real career...it was surreal. He's spent 12 years (college, med school, & residency) specifically preparing for this day and it's finally here!

The move went really well. The practice kindly paid for movers, which was a life saver! Even so, it was still lots of hard work that I hope we don't have to do again for MANY years. The Bossens helped us wrap things up in Temple by cleaning windows, spackling nail holes, and entertaining Drew while we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off. That day was an absolute whirlwind.

We hopped in the car and headed to Sherman, trying not to fall asleep on the road. My mom & dad met us in Sherman to help with the unpacking and traffic directing when the movers arrived. It was a busy weekend, but we did take time to snap one moving action shot of me & Andrew hanging our painting in the living room.

Adam & Heather came up on moving day to help us get settled in. I hope they'll come back for a "fun" trip soon. We promise not to make them work so hard on their next visit! We did take time to eat dinner at a beautiful spot on Lake Texoma (part of our "sales tactic" to convince Adam & Heather that they need to head to Sherman once Adam is done with residency).

Steph, Collin, and Julia joined the moving crew the next day. Avery stayed home to play with Collin's mom. About mid-day, I heard laughter coming from one of the bedrooms and went to check it out. Drew and Julia were in the pack & play together! It was cute. Drew is in the "slobbery" phase of life right now. Julia had a look on her face like she didn't know what this thing was next to her...and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not. Drew just kept trying to suck on her head!! When Julia was finally picked up, the whole side of her head was slimed!! Fun cousin moments!

...and another cute picture of Grandpoppy facilitating a Drew/Kobe bonding experience. Kobe is such a patient puppy!

So....we're in Sherman, things are unpacked, and we pretty much know where everything is. But, life is still a "work in progress"!
