Time to Celebrate!

Labor Day weekend was full of fun! We went to Dallas to celebrate 2 major milestones in the Poage's life. Collin and Stephanie hosted a really fun party at On the Border to commemorate Collin's 30th birthday. The next day, Julia was dedicated to the Lord in the worship service at First Baptist Dallas. It was a quick trip, but it was jam-packed full of fun.

Drew & Mom at Collin's B-Day party. Drew had already partied his socks off!

Gram & Boppa won the "Super-Granny" prize on Saturday night. They graciously volunteered to take the grandkids after dinner was over at On the Border so that we could celebrate kid-free with the Birthday Boy. I don't think they knew what they were getting themselves into when they volunteered to babysit, but we sure did enjoy having an hour or two to ourselves for conversation without crying! While we were relaxing, Gram & Boppa were outnumbered and trying to get the 3 kiddos who were worn out and cranky into pj's and off to bed. That task is often difficult enough for me to do with Drew alone...I don't know how they did it with 3 of them. But, they did!! I know they're going to need a vacation to recover from this 'vacation'! :)

Slumber Party with Gram & Boppa

Sunday morning we went to First Baptist to see Julia be dedicated. It was an energetic worship service and a wonderful message from 2 Kings on effective prayer and the importance of prayer. At the end of the service, the Poages went to the front and Julia was introduced to the congregation. The video crew projected a close-up shot of Julia on the screens in front and she just looked so incredibly sweet. She was smiling beautifully and was so precious. Pastor Jefress prayed a sweet prayer of dedication for Julia.

After church, we went back to Collin & Steph's house for a wonderful lunch and fun family time. Collin's mom and sister Kendra joined us for the festivities as well. The kids were a little worn out, but we still had a great afternoon.
